Willapa
Hills is a band of acoustic musicians from Wahkiakum County who play in
a range of genres including traditional-style ballads, modern folk,
blues and gospel. Band members Andrew Emlen, Fern Fey, Sunrise
Fletcher, Jessica Fletcher, Jennifer Hanigan and Kerrie McNally are
known for their vocal harmonies and creative arrangements using various
combinations of voice, guitar, autoharp, banjo, mandolin, cello,
mandocello, fiddle and piano.
Their most recent CD, A Portrait of
Place,
is a collection of songs by and about the people of the
Columbia-Pacific region. It was recently selected to be included in the
Washington State Historical Society archives.
