Patrick Dixon

Originally from Indiana, Patrick moved to Alaska in 1975 where he taught photography for 18 years.  He commercial drift-fished for sockeye salmon on Cook Inlet from 1977 to 1997.  His photographs and writings have been published by Smithsonian, Alaska Geographic, The Alaska Fisherman's Journal, National Fisherman, and Pacific Fishing magazines.  Since moving to Olympia, Washington in 1998 Patrick has worked as a freelance photographer, a corporate photographer and as an educator at The Evergreen State College, Centralia High School and South Puget Sound Community College.  He is currently retired from teaching full-time and is pursuing a career in writing and photography.


His poems and photos are available in two chapbooks:  Fat City, published in 2004, and Swimming with Fish and Other Animals, published in 2009, which is available at Amazon.com.
